Pathways to Contribute
To qualify for Bermuda’s Economic Investment Residential Certificate (EIRC), individuals must make a minimum investment of $2.5 million Bermuda Dollars (or equivalent) in one of the following areas:
- Residential or commercial real estate in Bermuda
- A registered Bermuda charity (focusing on sports, youth, seniors, or health)
- Equity investment in an existing Bermuda-based business (excluding exempted undertakings)
- A new Bermuda-based business venture
- A qualifying initiative benefiting Bermuda’s economy and workforce, as approved by the Minister
EIRC holders — along with their spouse and dependents (children under 18 or up to 25 if in full-time education) — gain the right to reside in Bermuda.
A $2,625 processing fee applies. Investments must be maintained for at least five years, with a minimum residency requirement of 90 days per year.
02 Application Process
Take the First Step
To begin the confidential application process, contact the BDA or submit the online form. A BDA representative will guide you through every step. Applicants must provide:
- Cover letter
- Personal data sheet
- Due diligence and vetting documents
- Two personal and business references
- Valid passport, birth certificate, and (if applicable) marriage certificate
Depending on your investment category, additional documentation is required:
- Real estate: Proof of purchase, sales agreement, signed land license
- Charity: Proof of registration, donation receipt, audited reports, and funding proposal
- Equity investment: Shareholding certificate, investment agreement, company compliance letters
- New ventures: Incorporation documents, financial evidence, payroll tax ID, and projections
- Other ventures: Evaluated case-by-case through a concierge service
Approved applicants receive confirmation via email, and residency begins upon issuance.
